COME APK: app permissions versus source permission

Permission to install from a source and permissions used by the installed app are separate choices. Read the screen before accepting either.

Before installation

Android can ask whether the browser or file manager may install unknown apps. That setting concerns the source opening the file. It does not automatically authorise every feature or data request made by an installed application.

After opening the app

An app may ask for a device capability when you use a related function. Consider whether the request fits the action you intended. Declining can limit a feature; it is not a reason to grant all permissions in advance.

Keep control of later changes

Android settings generally allow review of app permissions, with names varying by device. Do not disable Play Protect or grant unrelated elevated access to complete a download. For a managed phone, follow the administrator's rules.

A useful next step

Continue one prompt at a time and review the purpose of each permission at the stage where it appears.
